Boozefighters MC is a motorcycle club founded in California in 1946 by “Wino” Willie Forkner and J.D. John Cameron, they also go by the acronym BFMC.

The Boozefighters are one of the classic clubs who are well known for their involvement in the Hollister Riot, also involving the Pissed off Bastards of Bloomington MC (POBOB), Market Street Commandos and Galloping Goose MC, in 1947. They have never identified themselves as a “one percenter” motorcycle club, despite being involved at the Hollister event.

Boozefighters MC History

Boozefighters Motorcycle Club was founded in California in 1946, the founders being Willie Forkner and J.D John Cameron. Some other of the original members included Fatboy Nelson, Dink Burns and George Menker. Their regular bar at the time was the All American Bar, located in South Gate, Los Angeles, California.

The club gained notoriety in 1947 for their involvement in the Hollister Riot, also involving the Pissed off Bastards of Bloomington MC (later involved in the founding of the Hells Angels MC) and Galloping Goose MC. It was this event that resulted in the term “One Percenter”, although the club have never identified themselves as being a “One Percenter” club, as they don’t claim territory or involve themselves in some of the other political issues faced by 1%er clubs.

The first of the European chapters of the club was opened in 2006. More information on the existing chapters can be found further down in this article.

The headquarters of the motorcycle club is now in Fort Worth, Texas.

Members of the club are expected to ride Harley Davidson motorcycles, or an alternative motorcycle made by an American or other Allied Forces motorcycle company.

Some tensions occurred within the club after mass expansion in the later 20th century, with Wino Willie Forkner decided to hand over the rights to his Fort Bragg chapter and leaving the club.

Five members of the club were expelled in 1996 under the belief that they were using drugs. These five expelled members along with 20 others went on to form Wino’s Crew MC.

Boozefighters MC Patch / Motto

The Boozefighters Motorcycle Club motto is “The Original Wild Ones”. This motto has links to the 1953 movie “The Wild One” which starred Marlon Brando. The actor Lee Marvin played the character based on the Boozefighters founder, “Wino” Willie Forker.

The name of the club, the Boozefighters, is not intended to mean that they don’t condone drinking, this is a common misconception. In fact, the club are sometimes associated with the motto “a drinking club with a motorcycle problem”.
