Brother Speed MC are a one percenter motorcycle club founded in Boise, Idaho in 1969.
Brother Speed MC History
Brother Speed Motorcycle Club are a one percenter motorcycle club founded in Boise, Idaho in May of 1969.
Like most motorcycle clubs, Brother Speed Motorcycle Club was founded by a group of friends who enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles.
The group of friends placed an advertisement organising a ride and the club started from there, with the creation of the Boise, Idaho chapter.
It was not long before the motorcycle club expanded and opened additional chapters, this time in Logan, Idaho and Portland, Oregon.
The motorcycle club continued expanding with new chapters over the years, to the point where they now have approximately a dozen chapters focussed in the Northwestern corner of the USA.
As of the point of writing they do not have any international chapters.
There is also a motorcycle racing arm of the Brother Speed Motorcycle Club, known as the Brother Speed Racing Team. The Brother Speed Racing Team focus on both track based motorcycle drag racing, as well as speed records on the salt flats.
Brother Speed MC Patch / Motto
The Brother Speed logo is made up of a winged skill wearing gold goggles and a blue skullcap.
The Brother Speed Motorcycle Club colors are black and gold.
Much of the supporter gear available for the club are labelled with the “Black and Gold” tagline.

Famous Brother Speed MC Members
Although Ty Chacon may be known for a public court case in meth trafficking in 2005, there are no other members who can at this point be considered “famous” in a celebrity sense.
Brother Speed MC Crime / In The Media
2005 – A Brother Speed clubhouse located in Pocatello, Idaho is raided in relation to an investigation into meth dealing. The property was owned by Ty Chacon, a member of Brother Speed Motorcycle Club. He plead guilty to trafficking the drug. Ty Chacon was believed to be one of the ringleaders in the distribution of meth in the area. In 2006 he was sentenced to 23 years in prison for the distribution of the drug as well as lying in the court.
2009 – 18 September, 2009. While on route to the Portland chapter’s annual birthday event approximately 26 Harley Davidson motorcycles ridden by members of the Brother Speed Motorcycle Club are involved in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 5 near Wilsonville, Oregon. It is believed that traffic ahead of the motorcycles slowed down and the bikes came into a collision. 10 of the riders were transported to hospital, including 2 who were flown by LifeFlight helicopter to Legacy Emanuel Hospital & Health Center and OHSU Hospital in Portland with critical injuries. One of the riders with critical injuries later died in hospital.
2012 – April, 2012. Two Brother Speed Motorcycle Club members are arrested in relation to harassment claims, menacing and reckless driving. The claims come after a car was chased and then hit with a metal hook and hands.
2012 – May, 2012. 5 Brother Speed Motorcycle Club members from the Idaho Falls chapter attacked 2 members of a rival club in Pocatello named the Pocatello’s Empties Motorcycle Club. The incident occurred at a charity event where hundreds of riders met to grant a boy dying with cancer his wish of participating in a motorcycle rally.
2013 – 24 July, 2013. The home of Timothy Alan Butterbaugh, who is believed to be connected with Brother Speed MC is raided by police. After the raid he is charged by police with distributing methamphetamine. The police operation also involved the raids of the Brother Speed MC clubhouse in Nampa as well as the Road Brothers clubhouse.
2015 – 25 July, 2015. Law enforcement from several agencies responded to the annual POW*MIA Awareness Rally in Bannock County, Idaho, after reports that there was going to be an altercation between Brother Speed MC and Mongols MC. The Bannock County Sheriff’s Office responded with the BearCat armored vehicle, the Southeast Idaho Special Tactics and Response team (STAR), the Bonneville County SWAT team and the Pocatello Police SWAT team.

- Some sites report the Brother Speed enemies to be Vagos MC and Mongols MC, however no clear information exists as to whether this is correct, or any reasoning behind the statement.
