Warlocks MC History
Warlocks MC is a one percenter motorcycle club founded in Orlando, Florida in 1967. The Mother Chapter is located in Lockhart, Orlando.
The story of the Florida based Warlocks Motorcycle Club goes that 13 men were on board the U.S.S. Shangri-La Aircraft Carrier in February of 1967 on an 8 month tour. They all had a passion for riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and while on board decided to start a motorcycle club. Between them they decided on the name “Warlocks Motorcycle Club”, as well as designing the Phoenix / War Bird logo. The plan after leaving the ship was for each of them to start their own chapter, but only one of them actually did so. This man was Tommy “Grub” Freeland, known today as the Warlocks Founder. Grub started the Orlando chapter in Lockhart (which can be seen in photos below). This remains the Warlocks Mother Chapter.
Some chapters of the Pennsylvania based Warlocks club believe that the “Warlocks” motorcycle club name was stolen from them when certain members of the Florida based Warlocks visited Philadelphia Navy Yards in the late 1960s. There is no way of proving, one way or the other, exactly how the name was determined.
Warlocks MC Patch / Motto / Colors
The Warlocks MC patch is a Pheonix, also known as a Warbird.
The Warlocks colors are red, orange and gold.
The Warlocks motto is “Our Business Is None Of Your Fucking Business”. The motorcycle club also uses the abbreviation “WFFW”, which stands for “Warlocks Forever, Forever Warlocks”. This style of abbreviation is very common amongst outlaw motorcycle clubs.
Another motto used by the Warlocks Motorcycle Club is “To find us, you must be good. To catch us, you must be fast. To beat us, you must be kidding!”.

Famous Warlocks MC Members
While the Warlocks Motorcycle Club do not have any famous members in a celebrity sense, there are some who have gained more attention in the media and within the history of the club.
Tommy “Grub” Freeland – Founder
The member known as “Grub” was the Warlocks Founder. It was onboard U.S.S. Shangri-La in 1967 where he was said to have agreed with 12 other men to start chapters of the motorcycle club. He was the only one to do so, opening the Orlando chapter (the Mother Chapter), in Lockhart.
Warlocks MC Crime / In The Media
1991 – USA. February, 1991. Warlocks New Smyrna Beach chapter President Raymond “Bear” Chaffin is shot four times in the neck and head area while in his home garage working on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was found by his daughter, Wendy, when she returned home from school. The murder is later connected to the Outlaws MC, planned by Outlaws MC members Harry “Taco” Bowman and Wayne Hicks. This information came out when Wayne Hicks turned into an informant.
1991 – USA. March, 1991. 41 arrests are made of Warlocks members and associates who were attending the funeral of Raymond “Bear” Chaffin (see February 1991) after a long running infiltration of the club by the ATF. 18 of the arrests were related to selling two dozen machine guns and more than 80 homemade bombs to agents. The other arrests were on weapons, drugs and stolen property charges.
The club was infiltrated by agent Steve Martin, who befriended Warlocks President, John “Spike” Ingrao at the Apopka gym. He quickly became a fully patched member of the Warlocks Motorcycle Club, avoiding the usual requirement of first becoming a Probationary member on the promise that he would start a new chapter for John Ingrao, and started the Warlocks Fort Lauderdale Chapter, where he was then able to recruit four other law enforcement members to join the club and gather evidence on other club members. John ”Spike” Ingrao is sentenced to 9 years in prison.
The operation was ended after ATF concerns about the safety of the agents after the shooting of Warlocks New Smyrna Beach chapter President Raymond “Bear” Chaffin.
2009 – September, 2009. Warlocks member James Madison Bedsole, along with a security guard, are arrested and charged by Apopka police for the shooting murder of Chad Brickey which occured near Orange Blossom Trail in Apopka
2014 – Canada. March, 2014. Four members of the Warlocks Drayton Valley chapter, Sheldon King, Rocky Buzzell, Luke Bushell and Dean McKnight, and four associates are arrested. A total of 77 drugs and weapons charges are laid. The execution of a search warrant found six rifles, a handgun, 273 rounds of ammunition, over a kilogram of marijuana, more than 200 prescription pills and $6150 cash.
